Obstetrics is the field of medicine that helps women through every stage of the reproductive process, including:

• Pre-pregnancy planning

Whether your pregnancy is routine or high risk, Dr. Siudmak and his team will guide you every step of the way to give your baby -- or babies! -- the best start in life. With his 40+ years of experience, following the latest research guidelines, and state-of-the-art technology, he can guide you through the entire process.

What services do I receive during pregnancy?

During your pregnancy, Dr. Siudmak and his team are your guides to good health and a smooth pregnancy. Once your pregnancy is confirmed you will have a thorough examination to give Dr. Siudmak and his team a good baseline of information. We will address:

• Diet/Nutrition
• Exercise
• Morning sickness, heartburn, back and leg pain
• Medications and supplements

If an issue arises during your pregnancy that warrants further investigation or intervention, Total Women’s Healthcare is equipped to perform the following:

• High risk obstetrical medical management
• In-office transabdominal/transvaginal diagnostic ultrasound: Allowing a closer look at your reproductive organs, monitoring the fetus’s heartbeat, examining the placenta, or diagnosing a miscarriage
• In-office 3D/4D ultrasound: Creates 3D images and videos of your baby
• Procedures to close or repair the cervix including a cerclage if needed

What services do you provide for childbirth?

When the time comes to deliver the baby, Dr. Siudmak has extensive experience in the birthing process, including:

• Vaginal deliveries
• Vacuum-assisted vaginal deliveries
• Primary cesarean sections
• Vaginal births after cesarean section, VBAC
• Repeat cesarean sections

The primary goal is to make pregnancy and childbirth go as smoothly as possible. Dr. Siudmak will work with you to make that goal a reality.

Does obstetrics continue after delivery?

Obstetrics helps you maintain your health in the days after your delivery. Dr. Siudmak and his team will closely monitor your recovery to make sure you are ready to leave the hospital and return home. There are also several procedures that the doctor may perform after the delivery, such as:

• Cesarean section scar revision
• Postpartum bilateral tubal ligation
• Umbilical cord blood collection: Necessary for stem cell banking
• Circumcision of the infant (if necessary)
